Dubai is set to launch world’s first Bollywood themed park and it will be open for public from October 2016. Major rides and attractions have been unveiled by the developers. Known as Bollywood Parks it is a part of Dubai Parks and Resorts and is going to be the first of its kind theme park.
General Manager of Bollywood Parks, Thomas Jellum revealed that this is a mega entertainment project based on world’s largest movie producing industry popularly known as Bollywood. The major attraction and rides are dedicated to iconic Bollywood films and some popular names in Hindi films like Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Shahrukh Khan.
A video preview of the park has been released featuring the first look of the park and characters and rides created for the park.
There are going to be five zones, the first zone being Bollywood Boulevard followed by Mumbai Chowk, Rustic Ravine, Royal Plaza and Bollywood Film Studios featuring Hall of Heroes.
The guests are going to be welcomed in Bollywood Boulevard. Here they can listen to songs by the popular band, Magik at the Rock On!!(based on the Bollywood flick with the same name) restaurant that will be open late nights. They can also visit Jumbo Café, an international bakery of foreign delicacies. This site also comprises of Crossroads, the first grand stage of the park. This stage will bring old and contemporary Bollywood together in a single platform through contemporary fusion performances.
Next zone is going to the Mumbai Chowk and the main attraction of this zone is the Don – The Chase ride, based on popular Bollywood movie starring Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. It is a 3D motion immersive tunnel, where visitors will have to chase their favorite criminal mastermind across the city of Dubai. The famous Victoria station has been recreated and here visitors can enjoy a ride in a classic Mumbai suburban railway train offering typical Mumbai fast food and showcasing performances on the roof of the train.
Moving to rustic Ravine, the zone is about the rustic Indian villages that have inspired many Indian filmmakers. One of the modern classics of Bollywood called Lagaan was shot in a village and the zone will be home to the Lagaan carnival. The carnival will have rides and fun activities for children and adults that also includes the game of cricket.the first blockbuster of Bollywood, Sholay, was also set again the backdrop of a village and the zone will pay tribute to the movie in the form of a dark and dangerous interactive 3D ride The Hunt for Gabbar Singh.
To pay an ode to some of the grand moments in Bollywood the park has the Royal Plaza zone consisting of Rajmahal Theater that will host broadway style Bollywood musical. The visitors can also enjoy a royal feast at Mughal-e-Azam restaurant which will serve royal cuisine prepared by culinary artists.
Each of these attractions has been carefully designed and inputs have been taken from some big names in Bollywood for the sake of authenticity. The aim is to provide an unforgettable experience to the visitors by providing them with a flavor of Bollywood and Indian culture through immersive experiences, delicious food, stunning dances and extravagant entertainment.
