With the award season’s glitter and glam already high and underway with the Golden Globes ad SAG awards, we were nothing but way too excited for the BAFTA’s red carpet. And, with a host of international actors marking their presence for the 70th annual British Academy Film Awards, the subtle, stunning and spectacular style once again hinted towards a promising and fashionable year. We have today compiled a list of top 10 red carpet looks which stole the show right from the first glance.
1. Kate Middleton in Alexander McQueen
To start with the royalty, Kate Middleton joint the Hollywood elites for the BAFTA ceremony with Prince William. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a beautiful black floral embellished off the shoulder gown by her favorite and more often a go-to designer Alexander McQueen.
2. Emma Stone in Chanel
Another attention grabber was Emma Stone’s two piece couture by Chanel. The actress paired the black and silver embroidered midi-dress with coordinated straight leg trousers underneath. The elegance and edge were further supported with golden pointed heels.
3. Naomie Harris in Gucci
Pleats are back in vogue and Naomi’s look on the red carpet couldn’t make the trend any clearer. Looking no less than a frilly feminine goddess, the pastel colored Gucci gown with ornate floral detail at the waist line gave the perfect finishing touch to the soft appearance.
4. Nicole Kidman in Armani Privé
Sporting a plunging neckline with a metallic bodice by Armani Privé, Kidman’s dress was studded with 130 karats of Harry Winston diamonds, need we say more?
5. Amy Adams in Tom Ford
Looking sleek and elegant in a green strapless Tom Ford gown, the gown was plunged down at the back and was beautifully kept in place and brought together with a giant velvet bow.
6. Emily Blunt in Alexander McQueen
Well, the Duchess of Cambridge was not the only one to be dressed by McQueen. The talented actress, Emily Blunt too choose the designer for the Baftas. Blunt wore a beautiful McQueen gown with embroidered bodice and solid black frilled bottom. The dress was ideally paired with Sophia Webster shoes.
7. Meryl Streep in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci
The actress arrived in a black wide leg trouser suit with military detailing over the jacket worn over a lace top. Furthermore, Streep accessorized her suit with of course her statement glasses.
8. Viola Davis in Jenny Packham
Looking bright in blue, Davis wore a beautiful off the shoulder Jenny Packham gown made from flowing ribbons in shades of blue silk chiffon. The gown was minimally paired by the actress with a bracelet and a blue clutch.
9. Thandie Newton
Looking sultry and desirable, Newton wore a sexy off shoulder black gown with a sharp and sleek bodice. Minimally detailed with an embroidery on the waist, the gown was beautifully complemented with a dark berry lipstick.
10. Daisy Ridley
The Star Wars star looked her best in a floral paneled dress in a beautiful color combination of burgundy, white and black. The actress wore the dress with a matching bomber jacket and black pointy heels.
