The sudden demise of designer Richard Nicoll has shook many from the fashion world, especially, the London fashion community. In a short span of career, Nicoll achieved a lot and so we decided to pay homage to the British designer by showcasing glimpses of his work from the last 10 years.
1. Spring-Summer 2015
This is the most recent collection by Richard Nicoll and talking of women’s wear, this was certainly his most feminine collection too. Earlier, his creations were known to be tilted towards androgyny. Shimmer and metallic ruled the collection. Overall the women wear collection seemed well balanced. The men’s collection clearly had more colors than the women wear collection.
2. Jack Wills Collection
The designer joined the British brand Jack Wills as the creative director and unveiled his collection in 2015. Richard Nicoll was able to preserve the signature Jack Wills style but gave it his own little modern twist by using bold bright colors and graphic prints.
3. Anna Hathway- 2014
Anne Hathaway wore a dark blue satin slip dress by Richard Nicoll for the Interstellar premiere in LA and looked gorgeous. She paired up the dress with James Banks jewelry. The dress looks comfortable, elegant and effortless. It was from the Spring-Summer 2015 collection.
4. Autumn-Winter 2014

This collection had Richard Nicoll’s signature style and his simplicity. According to him, the collection for him depicted realism, modernism, romance, texture and simplicity. Limiting the color range to teal, magenta and golden, he focused more on the variety of styles and patterns that are playful and chic. The collection of men’s wear were equally flamboyant.
5. Spring- Summer 2014
Richard Nicoll presented a collection that looked sporty and modern and everything that he is known for. The collection had summer and spring elements beautifully imbibed in it. Be it the pink slips or the sheer white and black top, the collection made us fall in love with summers all over again.
6. Autumn – Winter 2013
This is clearly our favorite collection by Richard Nicoll! We agree it was more on the masculine side but there is nothing about it that didn’t impress us. This ready to wear collection had a great mix of style and aesthetics. The colors range from black, teal to pastel hue. The tailoring and cuts are impressive and amidst the masculine glamor, we loved the hints of ruffles and embellishments.
7. Tie the Knot Collection 2012
In 2012 Richard Nicoll came up with a bridal collection for Topshop. And just because he was designing a bridal collection we assumed at least this time he would take a traditional route. But no! The collection was anything but traditional. The bride could later wear these as a cocktail dress. It was a 7 piece capsule collection of bridal dresses that were bold, fun, comfortable and absolutely non-traditional.
8. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley 2011
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore a Richard Nicoll Resort 2012 strapless dress for the premiere of The Constellation in Milan, Italy and looked no less than a Goddess. The dress complimented her body type really well and was a perfect choice for the occasion. She kept minimal with the jewelry and let her dress do the talking for the most part. The dress was from Richard Nicoll’s Resort Collection of 2012.
